Melody for Humanity

Letter from the Director

Dear Administrator and Director,

I am Dave Morales, Director of Melody for Humanity. I am a multimedia artist specializing in multi-sensory interventions for seniors and challenged audiences at convalescent, healthcare and assisted living facilities.  Working with mobile state-of-the-art multi-media equipment, my program has been developed from over 25 years of professional entertainment with my own live band and almost 10 years of entertaining seniors as a solo performer. I have no hang-ups about interacting with folks in any mental, physical, emotional condition or circumstance with sensitivity and compassion. My foremost desire is to bring a few moments of joy into lives that may be lonely or hopeless; be it with a song, a word, a touch, or just by stirring a faded memory.

This is not a “hobby” but a full time profession. With an extensive repertoire that includes something for everyone… big band, oldies, classic country, soft rock, ballads, polkas, traditional gospel and more, audiences are not trapped in a time warp of the 20s, 30s, or 40s. I have no philosophical or religious agenda to promote. These intervention performances are musically diverse and never fail to impress the audience and staff, alike. An average visit takes around two to three hours in order to achieve some tangible impact. Additionally, I believe in a steady diet of this service with at least one visit or more per month.

Special occasion “themes” are available. Virtual graphics tours, 50s/60s Rock & Roll, Sock Hops, Barn Dances, Sweetheart/Seniors Proms or even an Old Time Gospel Hour are some suggestions. Indoors, outdoors… family days… birthdays … anniversaries… parties large or small… barbecue’s… formal dinners… whatever you can imagine. I also seek to serve those at their bedsides whom do not attend social events for one reason or another.

Participation in the show by staff, family members and volunteers is always welcomed and encouraged. Dancing, acting, (and acting up)… drumming… strutting your stuff… improvisation… sing-a-long, name-that-tune, and one of my favorites, the wheelchair boogie with those so confined).

I am a professional; dependable, extremely flexible and totally dedicated to providing quality interventions. My fees are very reasonable and negotiable.
I know how difficult it is for you to provide these professional services for your residents within budget constraints. I’ll work with you… just call or email me and let the service do its magic for you… for me… but most importantly, for them!

Thank you and God Bless!

Respectfully
Dave Morales
